Musk

Musk is a dried secretion from the scent sac of musk deer, which live in the Himalayas, Nepal, China, Siberia, etc. Only males produce this secretion, but the scent of musk has an attractive effect, and during the breeding season, males emit a strong smell from their scent sac to attract females. Natural musk was once harvested, but now the capture of musk deer is prohibited by the Washington Convention, and it is almost impossible to find perfumes that use natural musk. The scent of musk is soft and sweet, and it gives off a warm, enveloping, somewhat difficult to grasp impression. Synthetic musk fragrances are used as a substitute for natural musk, but there are actually many different types of musk, such as light and powdery, animalic and heavy, and milky and sweet, and are used depending on the scent you want to create.
