Galbanum
Galbanum is a plant of the Umbelliferae family, and is one of the most representative green fragrances. The fragrance is extracted from the hardened resin that flows out when cuts are made in the roots and stems. It has a fresh scent reminiscent of freshly cut grass and trees, as well as a profound earthy and woody green scent. Chanel No. 19 is a famous fragrance that combines this dignified green note with a clean powdery note. Galbanum also has a long history, and is said to have been used in rituals in ancient Egypt.
