amber
Amber is a stone formed in the intestines of sperm whales, more accurately called ambergris. This is the food that the whale cannot digest in its body, which is solidified with saliva and gastric juices and excreted, and it gives off a unique sweet fragrance. In Japanese, it is called ambergris, which comes from China, and is said to have come from the fact that ambergris washed up on the shore looked like solidified dragon saliva. In the past, it was sometimes collected directly from the insides of whales, but since commercial whaling is now prohibited, natural ambergris is rarely used in commercially available perfumes. Its unique sweetness with a hint of sexiness goes well with heavy oriental and woody notes.
